Which is better? CFM or ROR

Did you happen to catch the article yesterday on Twitter releasing their earnings report early?  This became a huge story.  The main problem was with the way they assigned message ids that loaded the article.  You can see here:

The URL scheme Twitter used was "https://investor.twitterinc.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=XXXXXX." The last published news release had the ID number of "905554." (you can read the original story here http://mashable.com/2015/04/28/twitter-earnings-selerity/)

The company that figured this out was Selerity and they simple increment the ReleaseID varaible to guess at release that are not yet public.  They are not yet public but exist.   This is a core piece that differentiates how Rails and Cold Fusion handle url variables differently.

My arguement is that this is just sloppy code.  In either language this would be sloppy!
